I love looking at great fashion photography. But in my world, a typical day is more about taking an artist or band or athlete and gently pushing in the direction of fashion.
This shot was one of several done for Hunter Fans. This model was indeed just that – a fashion model. And it shows. Nothing against musicians or athletes, but the ability to look alluring in front of the lens is an absolute gift. It’s hard to put your finger on the specific little touches of body language and expression that make a shot work, but great models achieve this with frightening consistency. Still don’t know how they do it.
I’ve finally figured out that in just about any pursuit, if a person does something extremely well, they make it look effortless and easy to the untrained bystander.
