The year was 1995, and I got a call from Bill Johnson at Warner Brother records, Native American artist Bill Miller was ready to release his second album, Raven in the Snow. Bill Miller is an award-winning Native American recording artist, performer, songwriter, activist, painter, and world-class native flute player.
My favorite aspect of this project was that everything was done in camera, on film, and darkroom. The raven silhouette was created with an overhead projector, and color was created with chemical toners on fiber paper; I had been doing a ton of digital and computer work since 1990, but both Bill’s wanted this project to be all analog, old school…
